Let’s be clear about something. The question as to whether Sen. Schumer or Sen. McConnell will be the majority leader is over. Sen. McConnell will be the Senate Majority Leader this January. The only question is how big his majority will be. At this point, I’m betting that he’ll have at least 54 Republicans in his majority.

Each day, I check the RealClearPolitics scorecard in the upper right hand corner of the page. A month ago, Josh Hawley, (R-MO), was the only Republican leading Claire McCaskill, his Democrat opponent. Last week, Republicans leading their Democrat opponents numbered 6: Ted Cruz leading Comrade O’Rourke in Texas, Martha McSally leading Kirsten Sinema in Arizona, Dean Heller leading Jackie Rosen in Nevada, Marsha Blackburn leading Phil Bredesen in Tennessee and Kevin Cramer leading Heidi Heitkamp in North Dakota. Yesterday, Bill Nelson, (D-FL), led Rick Scott. Then he made the asinine mistake of accusing Gov. Scott of using Hurricane Michael for his political advantage. Today, that race is tied. I expect Gov. Scott to win that race. People don’t vote for whiners.

The Beto O’Rourke myth is essentially over, thanks in large part to their last debate:

Sen. Cruz stung O’Rourke when he said that O’Rourke wouldn’t have voted for either Neil Gorsuch or Brett Kavanaugh, then saying that he “led the fight” to confirm those judges to the Supreme Court.

Don’t be surprised if the Senate map gets better for Republicans in the final days. (Think Montana and Minnesota.)

According to this article, he DFL’s fever swamp extends well into the schools. According to the article, “A Rosemount school district employee has resigned over a social media post in which she appeared to suggest that someone should kill new U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.”

The article continues, saying “Zuzek said the district began receiving complaints about the tweet on Sunday. It read: ‘So whose [sic] gonna take one for the team and kill Kavanaugh?’ By Monday, a spokesman for the FBI office in Minneapolis said the agency was aware of the posting, and the school district was conducting its own review.”

Rosemount isn’t the only place where the Left’s fever swamp exists. Predictably, it exists in Hollywood, too:

Summarizing, a Minnesota leftie wants Justice Kavanaugh murdered. A Hollywood leftie is thrilled that they ruined Justice Kavanaugh’s life. Democrats don’t regret these things. They just regret that they didn’t prevent Judge Kavanaugh from becoming Justice Kavanaugh.

Democrats didn’t just want to prevent Brett M. Kavanaugh from becoming Justice Kavanaugh. Democrats didn’t hesitate in throwing out principles like the presumption of innocence. It isn’t just that Democrats will do anything to achieve their goals. It’s that Democrats didn’t care what they had to do to demolish a good man.

Bryan Dean Wright’s op-ed highlights the pickle Democrats find themselves in after their failed attempt to stop Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Particularly scathing is when Wright says “Progressives have no one to blame but themselves, of course. For the past two months, the Democratic machinery has launched blistering attacks on Kavanaugh that have utterly backfired. The media led the way with astonishing speed and inaccuracy, with USA Today going so far as to suggest Kavanaugh was a pedophile. Meanwhile, activist groups organized pop-up protests in elevators and hallways, with cult-like followers chanting back to their leaders how they’d target their next victim. And, of course, hundreds of Democratic officials in the Senate and House pumped out talking points that defied both logic and decency.”

This wasn’t just a defeat for Democrats. It was a defeat of epic proportions. This is what they were reduced to:

Stuff like teenage farting, ice cubes, and devilish drinking games.

When Sen. Whitehouse questioned then-Judge Kavanaugh about these things, he looked downright foolish:

That’s the quality of the questioning from the Democrats? No wonder people think they’re idiots. It isn’t surprising that, after that stupidity, the Democrats’ chances are collapsing.

This is what ultimately sunk the Democrats:

When America finally heard testimony regarding Professor Ford’s serious allegations, the outcome was clear. Not one of the people she identified as attendees of the infamous 1982 party could corroborate that a sexual assault occurred or a party ever happened.

Sen. Hirono might think that men are presumed guilty until proven innocent but the rest of America disagrees. Fighting that fight is an uphill fight all the way.

Tonight, President Trump apologized to Justice Kavanaugh and his family for the grief that Senate Democrats put them through. Saying that it was unusual is understatement. Then again, it isn’t everyday that a political party tries destroying a public figure without corroboration. That’s what the Democrats tried doing.

Trump began by saying “On behalf of our nation, I want to apologize to Brett and the entire Kavanaugh family for the terrible pain and suffering you have been forced to endure. Those who step forward to serve our country deserve a fair and dignified evaluation, not a campaign of political and personal destruction based on lies and deception. What happened to the Kavanaugh family violates every notion of fairness, decency, and due process. In our country, a man or a woman must always be presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.”

Sunday, Sen. Mazie Hirono disagreed:

Sen. Hirono said that Dr. Ford should be believed because Dr. Ford said she was 100% certain it was Judge Kavanaugh. That belief plus a dollar is worth a dollar. Belief without corroboration is worthless. So is Dr. Ford’s word.

The lesson isn’t that guys don’t trust women. It’s that guys don’t trust women whose stories don’t add up. Why should I trust a woman whose testimony has as many holes in it as Swiss cheese?

I don’t doubt that President Trump’s apology made liberal heads explode. That’s what they get for playing the win-at-all-costs game. They haven’t learned that if they’re gonna take a shot at the king, they’d better take him down with the first shot.

Personally, it was especially moving when President Trump addressed Justice Kavanaugh’s daughters. That was particularly special.

Last week, Democrats insisted that then-Judge Kavanaugh’s emotional defense of his family and his professional reputation proved that he didn’t have the right temperament to be a Supreme Court justice. This past weekend, Jerrold Nadler told the NYTimes that the Senate Judiciary Committee and the FBI didn’t perform a proper investigation of Justice Kavanaugh so the House Judiciary Committee would perform one if Democrats retake the majority in the House.

Now Juan Williams insists in his latest column that Republicans can’t govern, asking “Can anyone unite the bitter, dysfunctional GOP House conference, which remains at the heart of the federal government dysfunction and has the lowest public approval rating of any branch of government?”

For a reporter, Williams certainly hasn’t noticed that the government got funded on time, they passed a bill to deal with the opioid crisis and that the economy is humming along thanks to the bills that they’ve passed. Other than that, they haven’t gotten anything done.

This is proof that the Democrats’ excuses keep getting more ridiculous each day. What a sad bunch. Here’s Juan Williams telling the FBI how to do its job:

Perhaps, he should work harder at his craft and trust the FBI more.

If I’d approached you 2 weeks ago and told you that Judge Kavanaugh would be confirmed and that he owed it to a fiery speech by Lindsey Graham and a powerful speech by Susan Collins, I’m betting that I would’ve won lots of bets.

The truth is that people are figuring out that Republicans have developed a spine at just the right time. What we do with that newly-detected spine is up to us. And by us, I’m talking about the full spectrum of Republicans. Or, to steal Lindsey Graham’s newly-coined phrase, the past 2 weeks have brought together Trump Republicans, Bush Republicans, Romney Republicans, McCain Republicans, Libertarians and vegetarians.

Think about this:

Watching the Republican Party come together – and seeing senators who have personified the weakness of the GOP stand up for what’s right – has been a revelation. If you had told me last month I would be praising Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Collins, I would have thought you were crazy. Yet here we are and all three have been beacons during this fight, and delivered when under extraordinary pressure.

Watching Sen. Jeff Flake, R-AZ, sulk into an elevator, refusing to stand up to partisan hecklers, was dispiriting. But Collins’ speech Friday was an inspiring reminder of what the Senate is supposed to embody, a place where lawmakers give a thoughtful and reasoned presentation of the facts before us, in this case regarding Judge Kavanaugh.

Then there’s this:

Collins’ speech was important and valuable. And for those of us who support President Trump and have been extremely critical of the GOP establishment, it was a reminder of what we can accomplish working together. President George W. Bush and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice were very active calling senators urging them to confirm Kavanaugh’s nomination, which likely made a big difference.

President Trump, working with his original supporters and establishment Republicans, have made a significant ‘down-payment’ on making America great again. Imagine if we held onto our House and Senate majorities, then started working together to accomplish the rest of President Trump’s agenda.

Let’s understand that these midterms aren’t just about continuing President Trump’s agenda. I want that to happen but that isn’t why these midterms are so important. They’re important because Democrats have gone off the deep end. When they send 3,000 coat-hangers to Sen. Collins’ office, that’s proof that Democrats have totally lost their minds. That debate is finished.

It’s time for Republicans to provide leadership. It’s safe to say that Democrats can’t provide any leadership. Finally, does anyone seriously think that Nancy Pelosi will produce better results than what we’re getting right now? I don’t.

Tina Smith isn’t as awful as Al Franken. (We haven’t heard that she’s groped anyone.) Still, she’s a do-nothing politician who needs to be defeated on Nov. 6. Actually, the do-nothing characterization requires an asterisk. When it comes to investigating President Trump’s nominees, she’s a passionate activist for action.

There’s no disputing whether she’s pushed for investigating Judge Kavanaugh. That’s a stark contrast to her do-nothingism regarding Keith Ellison. Karen Monahan has provided this documentation from a doctor who examined her:

Tina Smith has campaigned with and endorsed Keith Ellison. Ellison is so far out there that President Obama won’t endorse him. Think about that a second. Tina Smith is farther left than President Obama. The former Divider-in-Chief steers clear of Ellison.

There’s a simple way to cut through the clutter. Vote for the candidate whose values don’t change based on which way the political winds are blowing. Vote for Karin Housley. She’s the only candidate that’s called for a real investigation into Ellison’s alleged abuse of Karen Monahan:

Ellison announced last week that he would request the House Ethics Committee look into the accusations he faces. He told BuzzFeed, “I am taking this step now because I am innocent and eager to see this entire matter resolved.” Minnesota’s Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party is currently awaiting the findings of an independent investigation it launched two months ago.

But Housley, who is challenging incumbent Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.) in the Nov. 6 election, says those investigations are inadequate. “Recent calls for a congressional ethics investigation, made by Keith Ellison and echoed by my opponent, amount to nothing more than political cover,” she said in a statement. “Ellison will have left Congress by the time an investigation could be completed.

“These are serious, recent and substantiated allegations that deserve immediate attention and raise significant doubts about Keith Ellison’s fitness to serve as Minnesota’s chief legal officer,” Housley added.

Ellison calling for an Ethics Committee investigation is a sham. In other words, it’s like Ellison. Anyone that thinks that this would be a real investigation is kidding themselves.

Tina Smith is satisfied dragging her feet to help Keith Ellison. If she’s going to call for a full-fledged investigation into Judge Kavanaugh, she should demand the same of Ellison.

Otherwise, she’s just another do-nothing political hack.

Had the Democrats simply vigorously opposed Brett Kavanaugh during the Senate Judiciary Committee’s confirmation hearing, they wouldn’t have nationalized these midterm elections. Instead, they turned the hearings into a spectacle, thereby turning the midterms into a referendum on the Democrats’ inability to govern.

Ever since his justified diatribe during last Thursday’s hearing, Lindsey Graham has nailed the Democrats in one interview after another. Last night, he appeared on Sean Hannity’s show to talk about the status of the FBI’s investigation into Judge Kavanaugh. At one point in the interview, Hannity asked him what would happen if Kavanaugh’s confirmation fell a vote short. His answer was nothing short of brilliant, in my estimation:

Here’s the partial transcript of Sen. Graham’s reply:

First of all, I don’t think we will because I don’t think we’ll find out anything new in this investigation. I think Sen. Collins and Sen. Murkowski just wanted to make sure that the FBI did their homework to check the Committee’s work. Now, what would happen if something really weird did occur and we’re 1 vote short on the Committee? Here’s what I’d tell the President. I would appeal the verdict of the Senate to the ballot box. This good man should not be destroyed. If you legitimize this process by falling 1 vote short, woe be unto the next person. I’d hate to be the next person nominated. I would renominate him. I would take this case to the American people and I’d ask voters in Indiana, Missouri and North Dakota and other places where Trump won and see if the voters want to appeal the verdict of their senators.

That’s exactly the right strategy. The Democrats have been totally unfair throughout this process. Let’s see if those states’ voters are as unfair as their senators. I’m betting they aren’t. I’m betting that those voters will boot out those red-state Democrats.

In fact, I’m betting that Democrats have already gone too far with these hearings. When Sen. ‘Spartacus’ said that anyone supporting Judge Kavanaugh was “complicit in evil”, he fired up voters. When Mazie Hirono told men to shut up and do the right thing for once, she fired up voters even more.

The thing, though, that really fired people up was the Democrats constant insistence that Judge Kavanaugh wasn’t entitled to the presumption of innocence because this wasn’t a court trial. The presumption of innocence isn’t just for court trials. It’s the basis for simple fairness. Democrats emphatically implied that Judge Kavanaugh wasn’t entitled to fairness.

This article lays out nicely what’s at stake for red-state Democrats:

Senate Democrats up for reelection this year in deep-red states face a nightmare decision on how to handle Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Vulnerable Democrats are hoping Republicans will force him to withdraw his nomination, allowing them to avoid politically divisive votes.

Their worst nightmare came one step closer when Judge Kavanaugh defiantly said “you might defeat me but I’m not going anywhere.”

The Democrats’ behavior is way over the line. They’ve been despicable, especially Amy Klobuchar, Dianne Feinstein and Mazie Hirono. Those women (I’m using that term exceptionally loosely in that instance) don’t have a bit of integrity combined.

Why has Sen. Klobuchar endorsed accused woman assaulter Keith Ellison but crucified Judge Kavanaugh? The woman who was allegedly assaulted by Keith Ellison has published a doctor’s report. The woman who’s accused Judge Kavanaugh doesn’t have anything in terms of forensic evidence.

Nostradamus isn’t required to find out what will happen in 2019 if the Democrats get control of the House and/or the Senate. The policies that Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and other Democrat Socialists will destroy the positives that President Trump and the GOP have put in place.

I’ll stipulate that Republicans like John McCain, Jeff Flake and Susan Collins haven’t been a great help to President Trump’s agenda. With that said, there’s no disputing that replacing McCain with Jon Kyl, Flake with Martha McSally, Bob Corker with Marsha Blackburn, then replacing Joe Manchin, Joe Donnelly, Jon Tester, Heidi Heitkamp and Claire McCaskill with solid conservatives would be a major step in the right direction.

We’ve seen what happens when environmental activists and socialists get their way. You get a lost decade like we had under Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, then Barack Obama. Companies left the US. Income inequality increased. Economic growth stagnated. Is that the future you want?

Fast forward to January, 2017. President Trump took over. With the help of the Republican Congress, President Trump rolled back billions of dollars of anti-coal and anti-mining regulations that the Democrats had installed. Though Sen. McCain sunk our attempt to repeal and replace the ACA, President Trump and the Republicans revamped the tax code, unleashing the animal spirits of an economy stalled for too long.

The result? Small business and consumer confidence soaring. Capital investment increasing for the first time in years. In other non-economic areas, we’re confirming solid judges that think it’s a sin to act like legislators but who see interpreting the Constitution as their primary function.

This past week, Democrats showed that they’re only interested in obstructing everything that President Trump stands for. Will Republicans fight with President Trump? Or will we let evil triumph? As for myself, I plan on fighting until I drop.

Republicans, it’s time to get fired up and kick some electoral ass.

Predictably, the Twin Cities media and the national media are treating Sen. Klobuchar, aka St. Amy of Hennepin County, like she’s a genius worthy of presidential consideration. Though she isn’t the embarrassment that Al Franken was and Tina Smith is, she’s still embarrassing. She’s been peddling the FBI investigation chanting point all week as consistently as she’s peddled the BS that Dr. Blasey-Ford was credible.

First, I’ll stipulate that, from an emotional standpoint, Dr. Blasey-Ford came across as an empathetic figure. With me, that isn’t enough, though. Next, from a corroborative standpoint, Dr. Blasey-Ford wasn’t convincing. The fact that you come across as sympathetic or empathetic means nothing if you can’t corroborate the story you’re telling, especially if it’s from 36 years ago. If you’re going to trash a man with impeccable character credentials, I need more than speculation.

Apparently, St. Amy doesn’t need more than that if the nominee is from a Republican president. The criteria needs to be the same whether the nomination is made by a Republican president or a Democrat. St. Amy doesn’t play by those rules.

Perhaps, that’s why she was a mediocre county attorney. Check out St. Amy’s speech:

Is St. Amy actually stupid enough to think that any of the alleged witnesses will change their testimony? Let’s be straight about this. Each of the people that Dr. Blasey-Ford named as a witness to the event have submitted statements (“under the penalty of felony”) saying that the event never happened or that they didn’t witness the event.

That means that these people aren’t witnesses whatsoever. Why should I think that they’ll suddenly have a magical “Perry Mason moment”? The odds of that happening are about the same as me getting hit by lightning while holding a pair of lottery tickets. It isn’t exactly high.

St. Amy has voted with Harry Reid or Chuck Schumer consistently. She’s never voted for a Republican-nominated Supreme Court justice nominee. In other words, she’s been Sen. Schumer’s shill her entire career.

Let’s remember that during St. Amy’s time in office, the economy tanked and stayed tanked for 10 years. Now the economy took off. St. Amy voted for every budget that caused the economy to tank and against every but that’s helped the economy to soar.

How stupid is that? How stubborn is she? Aren’t we better off with someone who won’t vote for failing economic policies but who will vote for pro-growth policies?

It’s time for you to get to know Jim Newberger. He’s the smart alternative to St. Amy.
