Katie Pavlich’s article is a portrait in the Democrats’ twisted thinking. Pavlich started her article by quoting Speaker Pelosi as saying “A wall, in my view, is an immorality. It’s the least effective way to protect the border and the most costly. I can’t think of any reason why anyone would think it’s a good idea — unless this has something to do with something else.”

Speaker Pelosi, I’ve never heard of a drone stopping a caravan. You haven’t either. Pelosi and Schumer complain that President Trump hasn’t put forward a plan for building the wall. What’s frightening is that Speaker Pelosi and Sen. Schumer haven’t laid out is a plan to secure the border. They’ve said that we should use drones, sensors and extra patrols but they haven’t offered specifics.

Further, President Trump’s plan comes complete with specifics. Those 234 miles of fencing/border wall/steel slats isn’t a number pulled out of thin air. They’re what the Border Patrol have recommended:

This is the tragic reality of illegal immigration on our southern border. This is the cycle of human suffering that I am determined to end. My administration has presented congress with a detailed proposal to secure the border and stop the criminal gangs, drug smugglers, and human traffickers. It’s a tremendous problem.

Our proposal was developed by law enforcement professionals and border agents at the Department of Homeland Security. These are the resources they have requested to properly perform their mission and keep America safe. In fact, safer than ever before.

Here in Minnesota, Tina Smith proved that she’s either hard-of-hearing or dishonest. Here’s what she told KARE11 News:

“Tonight we heard the same things from the President that we’ve been hearing from him for the last two years, but he only offered symbols and no solutions. Meanwhile, Friday paychecks aren’t going to go out. This is a waste and it’s increasingly harmful to families and federal workers and also contract workers; and it needs to, and we could, end it tomorrow.”

Smith didn’t hear a plan because she wasn’t listening. It’s there. She just didn’t listen.

Border patrol shouldn’t have to patrol the entire 2,200 mile border. Building fences that create chokepoints help funnel coyotes and other traffickers to limited areas. Why wouldn’t Smith, Schumer and Pelosi want that? Further, that sounds like a real plan. Shame on Democrats for not taking negotiations seriously. When Election 2020 rolls around, make sure you remember which party offered a detailed plan and which political party was unserious.

One Response to “Pelosi’s twisted thinking”

  • Chad Q says:

Smith is right that they could open the government up tomorrow but only if they would allocate the president the money he is asking for so the government can do what it is constitutionally obligated to do, protect the citizens of the US from outside forces. Smith and the rest of the progressives are hacks and only want money to buy votes.
