More and more, the American people are getting the impression that anti-American forces are trying to take apart part of the United States’ identity simply by complaining. In St. Louis Park, it might not have taken even that much for the City Council to vote to eliminate reciting the Pledge of Allegiance before City Council meetings.

According to the article, “council members voted for removal because some argued the Pledge of Allegiance could discourage non-citizens from the political process.” So the St Louis Park City Council voted unanimously to stop reciting the Pledge because it might offend someone? How is that different than a heckler’s veto against conservative speakers?

Thankfully, our pro-American president isn’t sitting on the sidelines while the Hate America First Democrats strip away one tradition after another. This isn’t just one isolated incident after another. These are related. There’s no question that there’s a plan in place. Here’s President Trump’s tweet:

Apparently, these politicians don’t understand who they’re dealing with as constituents. This is the age of Brexit, populism and President Trump. Check this out:

(Anne Mavity, the council member who sponsored the original changes to the meeting protocol, previously told KARE 11 that non-citizens shouldn’t have to say a pledge to do business with the city). However, the decision led to some backlash and even national media attention, including the president’s tweet. Mavity said she supports a detailed research process that incorporates feedback from constituents. “We clearly fumbled by not anticipating the desire of our St. Louis Park residents to be in conversation about this,” Mavity said. “So, I want to make sure we get it right at this time.”

First, if non-citizens have a problem with meetings that start with the Pledge of Allegiance, that’s their problem. Period. Next, it’s important for the United States to maintain its identity. Someone should send this recital of the Pledge to the Council:

I’ve watched the Pledge getting recited dozens of times. Each time, I gain new appreciation for the Pledge. Whenever this Pledge is recited, though, something special happens. I can’t explain it but I know it when I feel it.

That’s why winning this fight isn’t just important. It’s essential.

The mayor supports reinstating the pledge but was out of town when the vote occurred in June. On Monday night, he said council members “skipped a step” and should have taken more time to consider the community’s feedback. “Let’s have a focused discussion (about the pledge),” Spano said in interview. “Whether or not that is in fact welcoming or unwelcoming and what does that mean? And how do we move forward as a group?”

It’s difficult to believe that the Council accidentally skipped a step. I think it was intentional because I’m betting that the Council wanted a specific outcome and because they didn’t want to have to explain their decision to the uppity peasants.

It’s pretty apparent that Democrats don’t give a damn about border security. Any political party that unanimously approves of decriminalizing illegal aliens entering the United States officially is the Open Borders Party. The week before Independence Day, NBC and the DNC (Pardon the repetition) hosted a pair of Democrat presidential debates.

During those debates, each of the Democrat presidential candidates raised their hands in support of decriminalizing illegal aliens entering the US. They didn’t stop there, though, unfortunately. All 20 of these Democrat presidential candidates raised their hands affirming that their national health care laws would provide taxpayer-funded health care to illegal aliens.

Jeh Johnson, President Obama’s final Secretary of Homeland Security, passionately opposes the Democrats’ open border policies:

That is tantamount to declaring publicly that we have open borders. That is unworkable, unwise and does not have the support of a majority of American people or the Congress, and if we had such a policy, instead of 100,000 apprehensions a month, it will be multiples of that.

I don’t disagree often with Newt Gingrich but I must this time:

When word spreads that sick people can sneak into America and get free medical treatment from American doctors and nurses, the flood of sick immigrants will double and triple from the current numbers.

It isn’t that I disagree with Newt’s opinion. It’s his choice of words. Right now, illegal aliens don’t have to “sneak” across the border. They can waltz across the border, then apply for asylum. Thanks to Nancy ‘Spark of Divinity’ and Alexandria ‘Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire’ Ocasio-Cortez, illegal aliens are treated better than are our homeless veterans.

Anyone who thinks that this is patriotic is stupid beyond belief. Yes, I’m talking to you, Jessica Tarlov, Tom Perez and Ed Rendell. Predictably, Newt nailed it with this tweet:

Democrats are patriots in some weird, demented way but not in the traditional sense. It’s time to re-establish Reaganite patriotism. It’s been too long since we had that type of patriotism.

AOC’s patriotism is faux patriotism. She wouldn’t recognize Founding Fathers-style patriotism if it bit her backside. The men who signed the Declaration, the men who fought the Revolutionary War and the men who wrote this nation’s Constitution were selfless men. The men who signed the Declaration of Independence knew that they were dead men walking if George Washington’s army didn’t defeat King George’s military.

Can anyone picture AOC doing any of the things that those slaveholders did? Yes, I ‘admitted’ that many were slaveholders. I can’t picture AOC doing anything even close to what those patriots did.

Democrats have been intentionally mangling the meaning of important words. Democrats deny advocating for open borders while providing incentives that would shout to the Northern Triangle nations to flood across the US-Mexico border. Democrats insist that detention facilities are concentration camps and that women are forced to drink from toilets.

It’s impossible to believe that CBP is tormenting women and little girls in the ways that AOC is insisting. It isn’t like AOC has a lengthy history of veracity. Rather, AOC has a history of frequently getting caught lying.

If Republicans want to get things done, they’ll need to toss the gloves and put on brass knuckles. Resistance Democrats fight like Antifa. If we want to lose honorably, (think John McCain) then Republicans will lose often. No more! Tell AOC, Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff that their reign of stupidity and lies is coming to a close in a few months.

Finally, Republicans should adopt President Reagan’s policy towards the USSR. When asked what his policy towards the Soviets was, President Reagan, replied “Simple. We win, they lose.” It’s time to sink the Democrats’ battleship.

Prior to President Trump’s “Salute to America” event on the National Mall, Democrats insisted that President Trump was using the event for partisan gain. In looking past the speech, Democrats looked petty. This Washington Post article did its best to sound whiny but it grudgingly finally admitted that the speech was simply a patriotic speech.

What can’t be denied is the fact that all incumbent presidents have a huge advantage going into their re-election campaigns. It’s often called the power of incumbents and it’s there whether the person running for re-election is running for City Council, the State Legislature, Congress or the White House. Whining about the inherent structural benefits of being the incumbent is nothing more than sour grapes.

The best part of the speech was that President Trump’s speechwriter wove in a history lesson of what makes America great without drawing on a single partisan issue. It truly was pitch-perfect. There’s little doubt that President Trump’s critics want to criticize him. It’s just that they don’t have anything to criticize him about. The Media Wing of the Democratic Party wanted to criticize President Trump but couldn’t:

The Fourth of July extravaganza was created at Trump’s request and designed to suit his whims, but the president largely refrained from using it to praise himself — abandoning his typical self-promotional style to applaud the military and ordinary Americans who have contributed to the nation’s advancement.

“As we gather this evening in the joy of freedom, we remember that all share a truly extraordinary heritage,” Trump said in a 47-minute speech that was dampened and delayed by a downpour on the Mall. “Together, we are part of one of the greatest stories ever told, the story of America. It is the epic tale of a great nation whose people have risked everything for what they know is right and what they know is true.”

Democrats wanted badly to find something to criticize President Trump about — but couldn’t. This is an example of how much the MSM wanted to accuse President Trump of politicizing the event, then stopped short:

OMIGOD! The crowd started chanting USA — USA — at an Independence Day event no less. What type of partisans would do such a thing? Wow! What’s the big deal?

This is the Mueller Report, Part II. Prior to the Mueller Report getting published, Democrats thought for certain that this would be the time that they got President Trump by the short hairs. When the report was published, they couldn’t admit that they didn’t get the results they wanted. That was difficult because Democrats were so certain they had President Trump in their crosshairs and that he wouldn’t escape this time. They were positively crestfallen when the Mueller Report disappointed Democrats.

Prior to Thursday night on the National Mall, Democrats kept raising a stink about President Trump politicizing the event. Democrats were certain that they’d finally trapped President Trump. Instead of watching President Trump politicize the Salute to the Nation, Democrats watched something horrific. Democrats watched President Trump deliver a history lesson on American exceptionalism and patriotism.

President Trump talked about American ingenuity, American innovation and American sacrifice to liberate America’s allies. President Trump didn’t need to draw political comparisons with Democrats with red meat. He just had to talk about the US at its aspirational best vs. the Democrats’ pessimism. The American people are smart enough to notice the difference.

Here’s hoping that your Independence Day was exceptional. Here’s hoping that the United States’ best days are still to come. God bless America.

Today marks the 243rd anniversary of the United States. Far from being a moment of certitude, it was a time of historic uncertainty. The 56 men who added their signatures to the Declaration of Independence understood that each of them would be hung if the Colonists had lost the Revolutionary War. Signing their names to that document meant that they were committing an act of treason.

Despite that incredible risk, those 56 patriots signed their names to that revolutionary document. Thanks to their declaration and Washington’s indispensable military leadership, combined with the intellectual brilliance of the writers of the Constitution, the United States of America has been the greatest liberator in the history of mankind.

Despite the incorrect claim that the US is a conquering power, the truth still remains that the only land that the US has ever asked for from the countries that they’ve voluntarily liberated is enough ground to bury the men who helped liberate those countries.

Just a few weeks ago, this nation celebrated another anniversary — the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. While visiting Normandy, here’s the sight that President Trump had:

Conservatives are belittled for their ‘fake patriotism’. It isn’t that we look past the imperfections of the Founding Fathers or the men that signed that Declaration. It’s that we look at the total picture rather than the cherry-picked picture. We see the nations that we’ve liberated as well as the mistakes that we’ve made. It’s that we see the steadfastness of American support for lifelong allies like Great Britain, France and Israel. It’s that we cherish our building new alliances with nations like Japan and South Korea.

How can people like Joy Reid look at the United States and only see an oppressive nation? How can opinion writers say that the United States never was a great nation, that, at best, it was an ok nation?

Tell that to the Philippines after the New Year’s Day tsunami when the US military sent ships to the region to turn salt water into drinking water. Tell that to the Pakistani people that the US unburied after an earthquake.

The so-called experts at the time thought that the US might, if it was fortunate, last 75 years. We’re now closing in on 250 years, far better than the experts had estimated.

Today, instead of celebrating the 4th of July, which happens to be my 63rd birthday, let’s unite around the principles this great nation was built up and that make this the greatest nation in human history. Let’s celebrate Independence Day instead of just celebrating the 4th of July.

God bless America!

Thomas Homan, the former acting director of ICE, insists that the Democrats have a ‘look in the mirror’ problem. Based on this opinion piece, I think he’s right.

To say that Mr. Homan is more than upset with the national security crisis is understatement. Homan knows the ins and outs of the political battle that’s being fought. He’s served in Republican and Democrat administrations. He noted that “The president also put a new long-term immigration plan on the table that the Democratic congressional leadership would have welcomed 10 years ago – but instead has rejected out of hand.”

Democrats have put political gain ahead of doing what’s right. Anyone willing to argue that is either getting paid to lie or they’re incredibly stupid. Frankly, I don’t think that Democrats are stupid, though they frequently act that way on TV.

Homan has these questions he’d like Democrats to answer:

  1. Why do you believe it is OK to not care about securing our borders and enforcing laws passed by Congress?
  2. Why do you vilify the brave men and women who enforce our laws?
  3. Why do you ignore an unprecedented humanitarian crisis on our border?

Homan wasn’t finished. Later, he wrote this:

If Democrats want to know why children are dying and 31 percent of women coming to the U.S. illegally are being sexually assaulted during their journey, the Democrats need only to look in the mirror and see their inaction.

The Democrats want to know how the criminal cartels in Mexico make billions of dollars a year on illegal immigrants smuggling and human trafficking in women and children. Again, they need only look in the mirror.

If the Democrats want to call illegal immigration a manufactured crisis then they must accept that they manufactured it. They manufactured it because of their drive to see President Trump fail, their desire to have open borders, and their desire to turn illegal immigrants into American citizens and Democratic voters.

This isn’t to say that Republicans are flawless. It’s to say that Democrats are significantly worse on immigration and border security. How can the party that supposedly supports the little guy do nothing while “31% of women coming to the U.S. illegally” get assaulted? That isn’t fighting for the little guy. That’s the Democrats (again) playing partisan political tricks instead of doing what’s right for America. That’s sickening. In this video, Pelosi criticizes President Trump, saying this isn’t a way to treat a friend:

What blithering idiot thinks that friends let harmful drugs flow into their neighbor’s yards? What blithering idiot thinks that a friend turns a blind eye while teenage girls are imported into their neighbor’s yard, then sold into sex slavery? If that’s Pelosi’s definition of a friend, then that explains her spark of divinity statement about MS-13:

The night Trump defeated Hillary, Democrats decided that they hated Trump more than they loved this country. Since then, Democrats have tried sabotaging President Trump’s efforts in ways that would’ve been inconceivable 15 years ago. Now, the Democrats’ actions aren’t just expected. They’re demanded. It’s long past time that Democrats should take a week for self-examination. Today’s Democrats are nothing like Democrat patriots like Hubert Humphrey, JFK, Scoop Jackson & Daniel Patrick Moynihan.

Yesterday, Nancy Pelosi insisted that Adam Schiff was a patriot. That’s laughable. It’s more likely that I can beat Hulk Hogan in an arm-wrestling match than it would be to find a consensus that Schiff is a patriot. PS- There’s no chance I’d beat Hulk Hogan.

Democrats are simply prolonging their lie about Russia. Mueller said that he didn’t find any evidence that anyone in the Trump campaign colluded or collaborated with the Russians despite multiple attempts by the Russians.

Here’s something that Pelosi hasn’t answered. A couple months ago, she said that there wasn’t a crisis at the border. With 1,000,000 illegal aliens expected to invade the United States, how can she say that this isn’t a crisis? Only a dingbat from San Francisco could think that. It’s worth noting that San Fran Nan thinks that Kirstjen Nielsen’s figures were a lie.

Now Bill Barr’s report is a lie, too? Just how far does this conspiracy go in San Fran Nan’s mind?

This is proof that a little paranoia goes a long way. Either that or she’s flipped out and can’t be trusted. At this point, who knows? With someone from San Francisco, it could mean anything.

Minutes ago, Rand Paul announced that he’s voting yes to confirm Mike Pompeo as President Trump’s next Secretary of State.

Several Monday conversations with President Donald Trump, a meeting with CIA Director Mike Pompeo, and reassurances about Afghanistan led Sen. Rand Paul to announce Monday evening that he would vote to support Pompeo as the next Secretary of State. Paul recounted his decision process on Twitter as the Senate Foreign Relations Committee prepared to vote on the Pompeo confirmation. The senator spoke with President Trump several times during the day and met with Pompeo.

“After calling continuously for weeks for Director Pompeo to support President Trump’s belief that the Iraq war was a mistake, and that it is time to leave Afghanistan, today I received confirmation the Director Pompeo agrees with @realDonaldTrump,” wrote Paul.

That’s just part of the breaking news today:

Three Democrat senators declared their intention to break ranks with other Senate Democrats on the Foreign Relations Committee, ahead of the vote. Red state Sens. Heidi Heitkamp (ND), Joe Manchin (WV), and Joe Donnelly (IN) each face November re-election fights in states that went for Trump in 2016.

It isn’t coincidental that they’re all red state Democrats in for the fight of their political lives. This means all of the Democrats voting against confirming Director Pompeo are exposed as putting their membership in #Resistance ahead of being patriots.

This WSJ editorial offers a stinging substantive criticism of the Democrats’ unseriousness.

Early in their editorial, they write about Sen. Tim Kaine’s criticism of Mike Pompeo, saying “‘I don’t want a Secretary of State who is going to exacerbate the [sic] President Trump’s tendencies to oppose diplomacy,’ Democratic Senator Tim Kaine (D, VA) told CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday. He cited Mr. Pompeo’s opposition to Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Tehran and his support for ‘regime change,’ although moderator Margaret Brennan didn’t let him finish that thought. Mr. Kaine may recall that Donald Trump campaigned and won while opposing the Iran nuclear deal, and if Mr. Kaine is still sore about the outcome he should have told his running mate to campaign in Wisconsin.”

Later, they write “Democrats say they don’t trust Mr. Trump, but in denying him senior advisers they make it more likely he will govern by himself. Mark it down as one more example that hatred for Mr. Trump has caused many of his opponents to abandon rational judgment.”

The underlying truth is that Democrats don’t put the nation first. Their highest priority is to Resist! Senate Democrats are acting incredibly petty. This collage provides a wonderful comparison between Republicans and Democrats:

JFK, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Scoop Jackson and Hubert Humphrey wouldn’t recognize today’s Democratic Party. They wouldn’t be Republicans but they’d privately admit that they have more in common with Tom Cotton, Marco Rubio and Cory Gardner than they have with Chris Murphy, Cory Booker and Ed Markey.

Today’s Democratic Party doesn’t have much in common with the American people. The American people want serious, substantive people providing oversight over national security. Right now, Democrats (and Rand Paul and Jeff Flake) aren’t providing that.

Thursday afternoon, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp announced that she will vote to confirm Mike Pompeo as the next US Secretary of State.

According to the Washington Post’s reporting, “North Dakota’s Heidi Heitkamp on Thursday became the first Senate Democrat to announce she would support CIA director Mike Pompeo’s bid to become secretary of state, potentially clinching his bid, as long as no more Republicans refuse to vote for confirmation. Heitkamp’s announcement, in which she said that “Pompeo demonstrated … that he is committed to empowering the diplomats at the State Department,” will not make it any easier for Pompeo to secure the support of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee before his bid heads to the floor. The panel is to vote on his nomination Monday, but with several committee Democrats and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) pledging to vote against Pompeo, his chances of securing the 21-member panel’s favorable recommendation are slim.”

One of the things from the article that’s troubling is where it reports “Pompeo … became CIA director last year with the support of 14 Senate Democrats; at least six of them, including the two who sit on the Foreign Relations Committee, have refused to back Pompeo as the nation’s top diplomat.”

While it’s likely that a couple more Democrats will vote in the affirmative to confirm Director Pompeo, it’s a sad day in the history of the Senate, especially for Democrats. First, playing games with our national security is disgraceful. Speaking of disgraceful, apparently, Sen. Heitkamp is apparently trying to have it both ways:

That wouldn’t be the first time she’s tried that tactic. Last September, Heitkamp hinted that she was interested in President Trump’s tax cuts. That’s why she got to fly with President Trump to a rally in North Dakota. Eventually, she voted against the tax cuts.

The Democrats who voted to confirm Pompeo as CIA Director but who won’t vote to confirm him as Secretary of State are playing political games. During Easter weekend, Pompeo took a trip to North Korea to meet with Kim Jung Un to start the process for President Trump’s meeting with the dictator. What excuse do Democrats have for not confirming Pompeo as America’s top diplomat? That he’s too accomplished at sensitive diplomacy? Would Democrats say that Pompeo finished too high in his class at West Point? That he finished too high in his class at Harvard Law School? (Pompeo finished first in his class in both instances.)

The truth is that Democrats are totally political creatures. Their special interests insist that Democrats resist, resist, resist at all costs. I wrote this post outlining the Democrats’ biggest problem:

I’d love questioning Sen. Manchin or Sen. Heitkamp why they voted against the tax cuts that’ve pushed the US economy into overdrive. That’s the opposite of patriotism. That’s the definition of partisanship.

If Democrats looked seriously at Mike Pompeo’s qualifications and accomplishments, they’d vote unanimously to confirm him. Instead, it’s likely that just 2-3 Democrats will vote to confirm him.

If Democrats cared more about their country than they care about playing politics, this nation wouldn’t be divided as it is. Finally, if Democrats put the people first, they wouldn’t have lost America’s heartland. The Democrats aren’t the profiles in courage that liberal icon JFK once famously wrote about. Instead, they’re a bunch of sniveling spoiled brats.

If Democrats cared about the US, we wouldn’t have to deal with Rep. Adam Schiff, (D-Calif.), leaking information about the House Intelligence Committee on a daily basis. If Democrats cared about the US, we wouldn’t have to deal with discredited former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe whining about Jeff Sessions firing him. If Democrats cared about the US, we wouldn’t have to deal with former FBI Director Jim Comey leaking confidential information to a professor.

Last week, Hillary Clinton, the Democrats’ presidential candidate in 2016, criticized the people living in blue collar states, saying “If you look at the map of the United States, there’s all that red in the middle where Trump won. I win the coast, I win, you know, Illinois and Minnesota, places like that. I won the places that represent two-thirds of America’s gross domestic product. So I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward. And his whole campaign, ‘Make America Great Again,’ was looking backwards.”

The point is that presidents are supposed to represent the entire nation.

Trey Gowdy put it best in talking about McCabe:

Here’s that part of the transcript:

WALLACE: Now, Andrew McCabe, the former deputy FBI director who was fired late Friday night says the reason that he was fired was to undercut his credibility as a potential witness in the Mueller investigation. I want to put up some of Andrew McCabe’s statement: This attack on my credibility is one part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals, more generally. It is part of this administration’s ongoing war on the FBI and at the efforts of a special counsel’s investigation, which continue to this day.
Congressman, your response?
GOWDY: Oh, Andy McCabe has undercut his credibility all by himself. He didn’t need any help doing that. And I find it richly ironic that he is lamenting that those are attacking the FBI when he himself does the exact same thing. It was the FBI who said he made an unauthorized disclosure and then lied about it. That wasn’t President Trump. It wasn’t me. It wasn’t a crazy House Republicans. It was his own fell FBI agents that said he leaked and then lied about it. So, if he’s got credibility issues, he needs look no further than himself.

McCabe didn’t tell the truth. President Trump didn’t destroy his credibility. McCabe destroyed his credibility by being a partisan instead of being a law enforcement officer.

I’d love questioning Adam Schiff about what proof he has that the Trump administration gives a rip about the Mueller investigation. Thus far, I haven’t seen anything that’d indicate President Trump has done anything illegal. I’ve heard Rep. Schiff say he’s got proof that President Trump has acted illegally but I haven’t seen the proof. Thus far, the only logical conclusion to draw is that Democrats are using this fishing expedition exclusively for political gain.

I’d love questioning Sen. Manchin or Sen. Heitkamp why they voted against the tax cuts that’ve pushed the US economy into overdrive.

That’s the opposite of patriotism. That’s the definition of partisanship.
